High Temperature Ceramic Fiber Textiles

High Temperature Ceramic Fiber Textiles

High temperature resistant ceramic fiber textiles are made from high-purity ceramic fibers (also known as aluminosilicate fibers) as the core raw material, reinforced with high-strength fiberglass yarn or high-temperature resistant alloy steel wire. Through modern textile processes such as precision spinning, weaving, and knitting, they are manufactured into special functional products that combine excellent high-temperature resistance with flexible textile characteristics. By successfully combining the temperature resistance advantages of inorganic ceramic fibers with the flexibility and easy processability of textiles, these products play an irreplaceable role in protection, sealing, and thermal insulation under various extreme high-temperature conditions.

Product Introduction

Product Introduction

Heat-resistant ceramic fiber textiles are high-performance flexible refractory protection materials made from selected high-purity alumina and silica composite raw materials. Through multiple precision processes such as high-temperature melting, fiber blowing, and fiber collection, continuous ceramic fibers are produced and then woven and finished through specialized textile processes.

This unique manufacturing process ensures fiber uniformity and continuity while maximizing the inherent high-temperature resistance of inorganic materials. At the same time, it provides excellent flexibility and tensile strength, allowing the product to be easily cut and bent to fit complex applications, making it an ideal solution for protection and sealing in extreme high-temperature environments.

Typical Applications

Widely used in:

• Furnace doors, furnace openings, thermal curtains, and flue flexible seals for industrial furnaces and boilers
• Flexible wrapping, thermal insulation, and sealing protection for high-temperature steam pipelines, valves, and flanges
• Welding protection, heat treatment tooling insulation, and thermal radiation protection for high-temperature equipment workstations
• Firefighting emergency rescue, high-temperature metallurgical and chemical operations, and personal as well as site protection for special equipment
• Temporary protection, sealing, and buffering of high-temperature components in aerospace and military industries

FAQ

Q1: What is the typical service life of ceramic fiber cloth? What factors affect it?
A1: Under normal working conditions, the service life of ceramic fiber cloth can reach 3–5 years. Key influencing factors include operating temperature (long-term exposure near the maximum temperature limit may shorten service life), environmental corrosion (acidic, alkaline, or humid environments require protection), and mechanical wear (vibration and friction may accelerate degradation). Proper installation and regular maintenance can significantly extend service life.

Q2: Can ceramic fiber textiles be used outdoors? How can their weather resistance be improved?
A2: Yes, they can be used outdoors. However, long-term exposure to sunlight and rain may accelerate aging and reduce service life. It is recommended to select outdoor models with waterproof coatings and to regularly inspect the surface condition. If damage or powdering appears, timely repair or replacement is recommended to prevent water penetration that may affect insulation performance.

Q3: Will fibers fall off during use? How can fiber irritation be avoided?
A3: High-quality ceramic fiber cloth undergoes curing treatment, so fiber shedding is minimal during normal use. However, improper handling during cutting or installation (such as excessive pulling or cutting) may cause minor fiber release. It is recommended to wear gloves and masks during handling to avoid direct skin and respiratory contact. After installation, adding a surface protective layer can further reduce fiber shedding.

Q4: Will ceramic fiber cloth shrink or powder under high temperatures?
A4: High-quality ceramic fiber cloth undergoes high-temperature pre-treatment, and under normal conditions the shrinkage rate can be controlled within 3%. When used long-term at extreme temperatures or under thermal shock conditions, slight surface powdering may occur. It is recommended to select the appropriate grade according to working conditions or consider additional surface protection treatments.
