Ceramic fiber blanket is also called aluminum silicate fiber blanket. After double-sided needle punching process, the degree of fiber interweaving, anti-delamination performance, tensile strength and surface flatness are greatly improved, so it is also called aluminum silicate needle punched blanket. The fiber blanket does not contain any organic binder to ensure that the ceramic fiber blanket has good manufacturability and stability under high and low temperature conditions. The ceramic fiber blanket is white in color and regular in size, integrating fire resistance, heat insulation and thermal insulation.

It can still maintain good tensile strength, toughness and fiber structure when used for a long time in neutral and oxidizing atmosphere. The temperature resistance is 900-1500℃. It occupies a dominant position in the use of high-temperature pipelines. The ceramic fiber blanket has strong thermal insulation capacity, so it can save more heat. It is 1.2 times the energy-saving capacity of similar thermal insulation materials (such as thermal insulation bricks, etc.), and is gradually replacing asbestos products. Its superiority lies in that it does not contain harmful components to the human body.

Classification of ceramic fiber blankets according to different characteristics

According to the processing technology of ceramic fiber, it can be divided into two types: spun wire blankets and blown blankets.

The ceramic fiber used in spun wire blankets is thicker and longer than that of blown blankets, so the tensile and flexural strength of spun wire blankets is higher than that of blown blankets, and it is suitable for thermal insulation environments with high requirements for flexural and tensile properties.

The blown ceramic fiber is thinner than the spun wire blanket, so it is inferior to the spun wire blanket in terms of flexural and tensile properties. However, the thermal conductivity of the blown blanket is better, which is suitable for environments with low requirements for the tear resistance of the ceramic fiber blanket but higher requirements for thermal insulation properties.
