There are many differences between rock wool board core material and ordinary rock wool board, as follows:
1. Structural form
Rock wool board core material: usually refers to the rock wool part used in the middle of composite panels such as sandwich panels, which is generally in block or strip shape, and its fiber direction is perpendicular to the upper and lower surfaces of the sandwich panel. In the sandwich panel, it is bonded with two layers of outer skin by glue or other means to form an integral structure.
Ordinary rock wool board: a plate-shaped material directly pressed from rock wool, with a relatively simple structure, generally a single rock wool material, and not composited with other panel materials
2. Application scenarios
Rock wool board core material: mainly used to manufacture various sandwich panels, such as rock wool sandwich panels are often used in steel structure workshops, roofs, walls of simple mobile houses, ceilings and partitions of clean air rooms, etc. In these applications, the rock wool core material and the outer skin work together to make the sandwich panel have good comprehensive performance and meet the requirements of the building in terms of thermal insulation, heat insulation, fire prevention, strength, etc.
Ordinary rock wool board: widely used in exterior wall insulation, internal partitions, ceilings and other parts of buildings. It is also used in some industrial places with high requirements for thermal insulation performance, such as cold storage, machine rooms, etc. It can also be used for thermal insulation of pipes and equipment3.
In addition, in terms of product prices, due to different production processes and uses, the core material of rock wool board is generally sold as part of sandwich panels, and its price will be affected by the overall cost of sandwich panels; the price of ordinary rock wool board mainly depends on its specifications, density, quality and other factors, and the price system is relatively independent.
