Production Methods Of Ceramic Fiber Blankets

Ceramic fiber blankets, also known as aluminum silicate fiber blankets, are a type of building material commonly used for pipeline insulation. Their unique production process significantly enhances fiber intertwining and tensile strength, allowing them to maintain excellent stability and process adaptability in both high- and low-temperature environments.

01 Main Production Methods of Ceramic Fiber

The raw materials for ceramic fiber are typically melted using electric furnaces, primarily including resistance furnaces and arc furnaces. Common fiber-forming techniques include the blowing method, spinning method, and combined spinning-blowing method.

02 Typical Process Flow of Ceramic Fiber (Arc Furnace Blowing Fiber Formation, Wet Felting Method)

After the raw materials are melted in an arc furnace, the molten stream is blown into fibrous form using compressed air or steam. The fibers are then de-slagged and collected as finished fibers. These fibers are transferred to a mixing tank for further de-slagging, then to a storage tank where binders are added to form a slurry. The slurry is molded via compression molding or vacuum filtration and finally dried to produce the finished ceramic fiber wool.

03 Process Flow of "Needle-Punched Blankets"

"Needle-punched blankets" adopt non-woven needle-punching technology. Loose fiber billets are fed into a needle-punching machine, where the barbed structure of the needles interlocks and tightly interweaves the fiber layers. This process significantly enhances the tensile strength and wind erosion resistance of the fiber blankets.
