03. Manufacturing Process
Raw material preparation: Ceramic fibers are precisely cut into 3–5 mm lengths and mixed with inorganic binders (such as silica sol) at a ratio of 1:0.2–0.5, forming a uniform slurry with a solid content of 15–25%.
Vacuum forming: The slurry is poured into a porous mold (commonly made of resin or metal). Under vacuum conditions of -0.08 to -0.1 MPa, water is removed, allowing the fibers to deposit and form a uniform green body.
Drying and curing: The preform is dried at 80–120°C for 12–24 hours to remove moisture and achieve initial binder curing.
High-temperature sintering: The body is heat-treated at 800–1200°C for 2–4 hours to promote fiber bonding and improve structural strength. During this stage, volume shrinkage of about 3–8% occurs.
04. Application Scenarios
High-temperature furnace linings: Ideal for aluminum alloy melting furnaces and other thermal equipment (operating at 700–900°C). Compared to traditional refractory bricks, vacuum formed ceramic fiber linings are about 60% lighter and can reduce energy consumption by 15–30%.
Aerospace thermal protection: Applied in rocket engine nozzles, capable of withstanding instantaneous high-temperature gas flows up to 2000°C, ensuring the safety of critical components.
Automotive exhaust systems: Used in turbocharger heat shields to lower cabin temperatures by 50–80°C, improving driving comfort.
Semiconductor equipment: Wafer heat-treatment fixtures maintain ±0.1 mm dimensional stability at temperatures up to 1200°C, ensuring precision in production processes.
